Growing up in Sydney Australia, from an early age I was always entranced by the world of fashion and beauty. Whilst studying Fine Arts at University I began a makeup course, where I realized my skill and passion was making women look beautiful.
After working in the fashion industry in Sydney for a number of years assisting many of Australia’s top makeup artists, I then moved to Paris, where I worked for the Jed Root agency. Then it was on to London where I started to work for fashion creative agency D+V Management.
By assisting some of London’s top makeup artists like Alex Box, Sam Bryant, Inge Grognard, Lee Pycroft, Andrew Gallimore and Florrie White I worked for some of the world’s biggest magazines and ad campaigns. Eventually I was asked to become first assistant to international celebrity makeup artist Kay Montano.
Working closely with Kay I was on set on a daily basis with some of the world’s best photographers like Karl Lagerfeld, Bruce Weber, Alasdair McLellan, Tim Walker, Miles Aldridge, Paolo Roversi, Corinne Day, Regan Cameron, Ellen Von Unwerth and David Bailey, amongst others.
My work has appeared on the pages of British Vogue, Italian Vogue, Grazia, Harper’s Bazaar (US), Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Pop, Another magazine and Dazed and Confused. Kay trained me in her special techniques for red carpet and gave me the opportunity to work with celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Daisy Lowe, Manolo Blahnik, Thandie Newtown and Claudia Schiffer. I’m a regular at London Fashion Week for the international shows, and my work has appeared in Australian publications like Madison, Cosmopolitan, Highlights, Noise and Harper’s Bazaar magazines.
I am now based back in my native Sydney where I have most recently worked for Westfield, Sportsgirl, Myer, Nando’s Australia and Harper’s Bazaar Style Network, as well as consulting for Manicare. I am Beauty Expert/Writer at KAREN magazine and write for my blog, MakeupMole.com.”
